Back in the Day: The Straw Era
In the day a 12 year old girl, named Betsey Metcalf, longed for a beautiful straw hat. Unfortunately, she and her family could not afford this straw bonnet. Determined Betsey gathered straw and some simple tools from her father's barn. She shared her new found skill with other girls and one inparticular Enice of Foxborough.
